Mr McGlashan, Mr Forster, Mrs Gowland and two pupils Jamie and Shaun are visiting the school in February 2009. More photos follow.
Mr Taylor, deputy head teacher, who has undertaken most of the fundraising, and Mr Wilson, special support assistant, visited the Gambia in February 2005. The school now has 6 classrooms.
The priority now is to raise sufficient funds so that the teachers can be paid. There are 8 teachers who earn £14 a month but the school gets no money from the Gambian Government. We have also learnt that the water well has been condemned and can not be used until a lining has been sunk down the well. These are the things that we are now trying to raise funds for.

How the money was spent
These are some pictures of how the money that we raised has been used to develop the school at Busumbala. The head teacher, Mamadou Demba, sends us regular e-mails to let us know how they are getting on. These pictures were taken by Derek and Bridget Lister, two retired teachers, who have been helping the school as well.
